Who we are and what we do

Arada Services is a young start-up company, aiming to provide efficient and easy service access via mobile phones. Arada Services is currently working on the implementation of an SMS based ticketing solution to bring simplicity and efficiency to intercity transportation in East Africa. Despite its young age, Arada has proven to be one of the most promising start-ups at the Aalto venture garage ,the hub for entrepreneurs and start-ups throughout the Baltic Rim. The company was a result of the Summer of Startups, an entrepreneurship program by and for entrepreneurial students in the Aalto Venture Garage.

13.05.2011-Once again Arada Services is in award success

Arada Services short-listed for 2011 Technology in Government in Africa (TIGA) Awards organized by the the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Government of Finland in the category Public service delivery to citizens/communities. For the 2011 TIGA Awards, 89 applications were received and over 44 projects short-listed from Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. As a young startup company, this was outstanding achievements for Arada to be short-listed for developing and implementing innovative projects to improve people life in developing country. 06.03.2011-Our meeting with Tuli and TIGA award

Arada Services is negotiation with Panu Kuosmanen, the Technology Transfer Manager for Networks and Telecommunications at Tuli, about the second stage funding. Matters are going towards the right direction and we are confident that we have secured the funding very soon. Apart from this, Arada Services is now officially a candidate for this years Technology in Government in Africa (TIGA) Awards by the the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Government of Finland in the category Public service delivery to citizens/communities. Tuesday, 11th of January - Arada Services second day in Ethiopia

My phone tired to wake me up the next morning at 8 AM, but I initially resisted successfully. Yet, when it was 8.30, the meeting at 9AM suddenly came back to my mind and I quickly dragged myself to the bathroom and got myself ready. The short breakfast was followed by a meeting with Michael and Dilu, where we discussed several issues related to the visit of Yetim at 10 AM. We ensured to go with the same expectations to our first real point of the Ethiopia Agenda. Well prepared we made our way to the office and were welcomed by the CEO, Ibrahim Muzeyen, and some of the technical staff members. The following conversation reached from simple exchange of ideas to revenue sharing models and even more complex technical issues.
